For Parents and Carers

Dear Parents/Carers,

Hello and welcome to Scalby School.

We understand and appreciate that this year’s transition to Scalby School is quite different to the process we would usually be familiar with. However, through the key information and resources on our website, we hope to provide some reassurance for yourself, as well as excitement for your child as they start to embark on their journey into Secondary School.

On this section of the website you will be able to find the following:

Joining Scalby School

Moving from primary school to secondary school is a big step for students and a new challenge. Scalby School provides an opportunity for students to build on the good work done in primary schools, learn through new experiences and take advantage of the many opportunities that a larger school can offer. Every effort is made at Scalby School to ensure that every student has a smooth transition so they feel at home from day one at Scalby School in September.

When starting a new school there are many questions which might arise. The frequently asked questions document below will hopefully answer some of the questions that you or your son/daughter may have.

If there are any issues about which you are unclear please do not hesitate to contact

Curriculum Days

As well as these planned transition events, throughout the year we also welcome a number of our feeder primary schools for bespoke curriculum day experiences. The Scalby Transition Offer below details some of the activities which we have offered primary schools over the past three years.
